The Office of the Chancellor is looking for up to three recent Carolina graduates to work alongside high-ranking University officials through the prestigious Chancellor’s Fellows program.
Designed to teach fellows the inner workings of a higher-education institution, the program assigns fellows to projects both within the Chancellor’s Office and in other units across the university. Fellows have worked with Communications and Public Affairs, University Development, Student Affairs and Innovate Carolina.
“As a Chancellor’s Fellow, I was able to experience several different areas of higher education and really get a feel for what interested me, where I was comfortable, and where I wanted my career path to go,” said Katherine Phillips, a 2014 fellow. “I am and will always be grateful to the Office of the Chancellor and all schools and offices that take part in the Chancellor’s Fellows program for allowing graduates to experience Carolina in a new, eye-opening way.”
Phillips now works with Americans for Responsible Solutions — a gun violence prevention organization started by former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords and her husband.
“Being a Chancellor’s Fellow was the perfect position for my first year out of Carolina,” Phillips said. “A lifelong Tar Heel, the Chancellor’s Fellows program allowed me to pursue my interests at a place in which I was invested.”
Chancellor’s Fellows applications are being accepted until Feb. 21. To learn more about the Fellows program, an information session will be held Feb. 8 at 5 p.m. at the Student Union, Room 3102.
