More than 100 members of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill community came together Tuesday afternoon at the Carolina Inn to celebrate the University’s second largest award.
Chancellor Carol L. Folt announced the five-year, $180 million award from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to Carolina’s Population Center for its Monitoring and Evaluation to Assess and Use Results (MEASURE) Evaluation project. MEASURE Evaluation assesses public health programs around the world to ensure government funds are being used effectively.
Other speakers at the event included Vice Chancellor for Research Barbara Entwisle, Representative David Price, Secretary Aldona Wos of the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services, and Project Director Jim C. Thomas, an associate professor of epidemiology at UNC”S Gillings School of Global Public Health.
