UNC-Chapel Hill School of Nursing celebrates new class with 2nd Annual White Coat Ceremony
First-year students mark the beginning of their professional journey

 

 

(Chapel Hill, N.C.—September 24, 2015) – The first-year students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing will mark the beginning of their professional journey with a White Coat Ceremony on September 27 at 2:00 p.m. The special ceremony will be held in Memorial Hall. Family and friends are invited to attend.

 

 

The ceremony will feature remarks from Interim Dean Donna Havens and a keynote address will be presented by Ernest Grant, PhD, MSN, RN, FAAN. Grant is the newly-elected vice president of the American Nurses Association and outreach nurse clinician at UNC Hospitals’ Jaycee Burn Unit. All guests are invited to attend an open house at Carrington Hall following the ceremony.

 

 

The ceremony is sponsored by the Department of Nursing, UNC Hospitals; UNC Health Care; Alpha Alpha Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau; the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing Alumni Association; and McPherson Cleaners.
