(Chapel Hill, N.C.—August 4, 2015) – Media are invited to cover the annual emergency preparedness drill conducted by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on Monday, Aug. 10, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The drill, which will be held near Municipal Drive and the main Carolina North Forest entrance, will involve multiple campus departments related to safety, operations and administration, as well as law enforcement officials and first responders from Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Orange County.

A media coverage area will be established adjacent to the drill site at the Carolina North Land Management and Trail Office. Media will be allowed to arrive and depart at any time during the exercise period (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and light refreshments, coffee, and water will be available.

Monday, August 10
9:00 a.m.—11:45 a.m. (while media may arrive and depart at any time between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., the most visual elements of the exercise will be between 9:00 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.)

On University property about two miles north of the main campus off Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Municipal Drive.

Media Check-In: Law enforcement officials and signage will direct media to the parking lot for the Carolina North Land Management and Trail Office. A media area is adjacent to the parking lot where credentials will be distributed. Please use the contact information below to notify us about your attendance.
