Innovators who are ready to take their ventures to the next level can find out more about a unique local resource starting next week.

Information sessions about Launch Chapel Hill, an accelerator program that helps entrepreneurs with high-potential, high-impact ideas of all types, will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday (Oct. 28) and Nov. 12 at the Launch Chapel Hill office at 321 W. Rosemary St.

The sessions coincide with the application period for the next Launch accelerator program. The program, designed to build successful, sustainable start-ups, runs 22 weeks from Jan. 6 to June 6, 2014. Applications will be accepted through Nov. 22. Information on the application process can be found at www.launchchapelhill.com.

Launch, which opened in May, is a unique cooperative investment of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the Town of Chapel Hill, Orange County, Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership and the Becker family, who provided initial funding in memory of their daughter Cara.  Triangle Office Equipment, Three Birds Marketing, and New Media Campaigns have also provided support.

Ventures accepted into the Launch Chapel Hill program receive personalized access to experts and mentors, broad networking opportunities, office space in the heart of downtown Chapel Hill and the opportunity to work side by side with 10 to 15 other start-ups.

Launch Chapel Hill charges a nominal $1,495 for the 22-week program, or $272 per month (including rent, access to parking, programming, etc.).  Scholarships are available based on a venture’s ability to pay or its social mission.
