Free public parking available for attendees, University Day, Oct. 12
Guests attending the installation of Carol L. Folt as the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s 11th chancellor on University Day, Oct. 12, have several free parking options. The festivities on Polk Place will begin at 1:30 p.m.
Public parking is available in these campus lots, located within walking distance to Polk Place:
- Boshamer lot on Ridge Road, adjacent to Boshamer Stadium
- Cobb parking deck, behind the Center for Dramatic Art, and accessed via Country Club Road
- N.C. 54 visitors’ lot on N.C. 54, one block east of Country Club Road
- Park Place lot on Boundary Street, across from UNC Press
- School of Government deck on South Road
Public parking also is available in the Koury lot adjacent to the Dean E. Smith Center with shuttle service to the ceremony starting at 12:30 p.m. Shuttle buses are wheelchair accessible, but patrons with special parking or seating needs should contact Accessibility Resources & Service at (919) 962-8300 before the event.
Motorists should note that Cameron Avenue will be closed at noon to accommodate pedestrians. Visitors may listen to 1610 AM, the University’s low-frequency traveler’s advisory radio signal, for the latest parking information.
