The Campus Y at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill announces the Class of 2017 Bonner Leaders. The Carolina Bonner Leaders Program is part of a nationwide network of more than 80 colleges and universities leveraging federal work-study funds for undergraduate student participation in volunteer service and social justice. Each year, a diverse group of first-year students is chosen for this need-based award through a competitive application process emphasizing service and leadership. This year, 14 Bonner Leaders were selected from a pool of 39 applicants. The program currently has 39 undergraduates and will grow to more than 50 students by 2014-2015.
