The timely topic of possible American intervention in Syria is the focus of Tuesday’s Constitution Day celebration at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law.   Scott L. Silliman, adjunct professor of law and an expert on national security, will talk about “The Constitution, the War Powers Resolution and the Use of Force in Syria.”

The discussion will be held at noon Tuesday (Sept. 17) in the rotunda of the School of Law’s Van Hecke-Wettach Hall, 160 Ridge Road. Light refreshments will be served.

“We are honored to dedicate a day to the contemplation and discussion of constitutional issues, particularly as they are relevant to the looming question of the potential use of force in Syria,”
said Jack Boger, dean of the law school and Wade Edwards Professor of Law.
