UNC sociologist Howard Aldrich recently received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Babson College Entrepreneurship Research Conference for his many contributions to the field of entrepreneurship research.

UNC sociologist Howard Aldrich recently received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Babson College Entrepreneurship Research Conference for his many contributions to the field of entrepreneurship research.

Aldrich is the Kenan Professor and chair of the department of sociology in UNC’s College of Arts and Sciences and an adjunct professor of management, entrepreneurship and strategy at UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.
The Babson conference, founded in 1981, was established to provide a venue where academics and real-world practitioners could link theory and practice.

Aldrich’s research interests include evolutionary entrepreneurship; organizations, occupations and work; economic sociology and inequality. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan and has been teaching at UNC since 1982.
