Temuri Yakobashvili, ambassador of Georgia to the United States, will discuss his country’s role in world politics Nov. 12 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His talk, “Georgia in World Affairs: Partnerships and Foreign Policy Priorities,” will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Pleasants Family Assembly Room in Wilson Library.

Temuri Yakobashvili, ambassador of Georgia to the United States, will discuss his country’s role in world politics Nov. 12 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His talk, “Georgia in World Affairs: Partnerships and Foreign Policy Priorities,” will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Pleasants Family Assembly Room in Wilson Library.

Afterward, Yakobashvili will participate in a roundtable discussion with UNC faculty members, including Klaus Larres, Richard M. Krasno Distinguished Professor in the history department, and Robert Jenkins, director of the Center for Slavic, Eurasian and East European Studies. The ambassador will be accompanied on his visit by Thea Kentchadze, political counselor at the Embassy of Georgia, in Washington, D.C.

The Georgian ambassador’s visit to UNC comes in conjunction with the Ambassadors Forum, which brings to campus prominent diplomats, politicians and business leaders. The forum is co-sponsored by the Richard M. Krasno Distinguished Professorship, the Center for European Studies, Center for Slavic, Eurasian and East European Studies and the history department in the College of Arts and Sciences.
