Former U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson Jr., who led efforts to quell the 2008 financial crisis, will answer questions posed by William B. Harrison Jr., a 1966 UNC graduate and the retired chairman and chief executive officer of JPMorgan Chase & Co.

Former U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson Jr., who led efforts to quell the 2008 financial crisis, will answer questions posed by William B. Harrison Jr., a 1966 UNC graduate and the retired chairman and chief executive officer of JPMorgan Chase & Co.

The program launches the University’s new Global Research Institute, a concentration of UNC and visiting international scholars housed at the center who will work toward solutions to key global issues. The theme of its first project will be “At the Crossroads: Globalization, the Economic Crisis and the Future of North Carolina.”

Arrival: Media representatives are asked to arrive early to allow for check-in and credentialing. You will not be admitted after the program starts at 5:30 p.m.  

Credentials: Stations and publications of those covering the event must be on the list of RSVPs compiled Friday (March 19) and present media identification to News Services representatives at the door. Credentials will be distributed to those media at that time. News Services representatives will escort reporters and photographers to the media area.

Sound: Audio feeds will be available.

Media parking: Limited media parking will be available behind UNC News Services at 210 Pittsboro Street, across from the Carolina Inn. When turning onto Pittsboro from Cameron Avenue, the building’s driveway is the third on the right. Permits are not needed after 5 p.m.

Directions to the FedEx Global Education Center: From the News Services lot, walk back to Pittsboro Street, cross the street and turn right. Continue on Pittsboro to McCauley Street and cross McCauley. The center is on that corner.
