French new media artist Zaven Paré will have one of his marionettes with him when he speaks on Nov. 18 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The free public talk, part of the art department’s Hanes Lecture Series, will be at 5:30 p.m. in the Hanes Art Center Auditorium.
Paré works with electronic puppetry, stage design, video projections and robotic art. He has collaborated with dancers, playwrights and other digital artists and robotics engineers. His work has been the subject of essays in Theater Journal and Drama Review.
