Two former Federal Election Commission officials will debate campaign finance reform at a free public forum Sept. 15 at 5:30 p.m. in the George Watts Hill Alumni Center on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus.

“Money, Politics and the First Amendment: A Debate on Special Interest Advertising in Elections” is presented by the UNC Center for Media Law and Policy with support from Lincoln Financial Media.

Bradley Smith, a Capital University law professor who served as chairman of the FEC, will debate Larry Noble, who served as FEC general counsel from 1987 to 2000. The moderator is William Marshall, UNC law professor and former White House deputy counsel.
