Amy Alicia Baldwin of Cary will direct the 2009 North Carolina Literary Festival at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, scheduled for Sept. 10-13, 2009.

Baldwin, who will begin work Monday (May 19), most recently was co-owner and vice president of development and marketing at the former Non-Linear LLC of Scottsdale, Ariz., which developed and coordinated a three-day music and extreme sports festival in San Diego, Calif.

She also has been a chief advancement officer and major gifts officer for the American Red Cross’ Grand Canyon Chapter. Baldwin has worked in development and special events planning at Arizona State University and as an events supervisor and volunteer coordinator for the host committees of Super Bowls XXX and XXXI.

Baldwin holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. She will develop the concept of the 2009 festival and have overall responsibility for its programming.

Sponsorship of the free public festival rotates among the libraries at UNC and Duke, North Carolina Central and North Carolina State universities.
