Daniel Pomp, a professor in the nutrition department of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Public Health and at the Carolina Center for Genome Sciences, will offer a look at the risks of food cloning at the Current Science Forum on Thursday (March 6) at the campus’ Morehead Planetarium and Science Center.
omp will explore the potential risks to health safety and food security when cloning is used for food purposes and explain the science and technology behind the cloning process.
The free, public event begins at 7 p.m. in the planetarium’s banquet hall with Pomp’s presentation, followed by informal discussions in small groups.
