Martin Doyle, Ph.D., associate professor of geography in UNC’s College of Arts and Sciences and director of the Center for Landscape Change and Health at the Carolina Institute for the Environment, has been named one of the 2008 GlaxoSmithKline Faculty Fellows for Public Policy through the Institute for Emerging Issues.
GSK fellows are selected to identify public policy challenges in the state of North Carolina and educate stakeholders and policy makers to translate research and ideas into change. Doyle, who specializes in river hydrology, will spend 2008 working with leaders in business, government, and nonprofits on the emerging critical issue of water sustainability in North Carolina.
