The sound of music will fill UNC’s Memorial Hall and Person Recital Hall with four performances in the next five days by department of music or related ensembles.

On Wednesday (Dec. 5), the UNC Symphony Orchestra will perform Beethoven’s “Egmont” Overture; Fauré’s Suite from “Pelléas et Mélisande”; and Bernstein’s Symphonic Suite from the Film “On the Waterfront.” The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The 100-member orchestra of faculty, student and community musicians is led by conductor and music director Tonu Kalam, a music professor at UNC. Tickets are $15 for the public and $10 for UNC students, faculty and staff.
