Just two months into Carolina Performing Arts’ 2007-08 season at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, seven upcoming performances are sold out and two have only limited tickets left.

“We are very gratified to see that our series is resonating with the public to this degree,” said Emil Kang, UNC’s executive director for the arts. “Patrons wishing to attend Carolina Performing Arts performances would do well to purchase their tickets sooner rather than later to avoid missing out.”

St. Petersburg Philharmonic (Oct. 26), Caetano Veloso (Nov. 7), The Royal Philharmonic (Jan. 9), Mary Chapin Carpenter (Feb. 15), Yo-Yo Ma and Friends (Feb. 27), Joshua Bell (March 6), and Murray Perahia and the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields (April 5) are sold out.

Ticket availability is limited for Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas and Edgar Meyer (Nov. 4) and k.d. lang (March 5). September appearances by Al Green and Harry Belafonte also sold out in advance.

Tickets for other Carolina Performing Arts performances are available online at www.carolinaperformingarts.org, by calling (919) 843-3333, or at the Memorial Hall Box Office on Cameron Avenue, open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tickets for Carolina students are $10.
