Environmental strategist and author Andrew S. Winston will speak Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. at the Kenan-Flagler Business School on the Carolina campus.


Winston’s talk is sponsored by the Center for Sustainable Enterprise at UNC Kenan-Flagler and UNC’s Institute for the Environment.

Winston is the co-author of “Green to Gold: How Smart Companies Use Environmental Strategy to Innovate, Create Value and Build Competitive Advantage.” He will discuss the “green wave” of pressure on businesses to respond to environmental challenges and how global corporate leaders are making environmental stewardship a strategic competitive advantage.

Winston is founder of Winston Eco-Strategies, where he works with companies such as Timberland, Staples and Coca-Cola to use environmental thinking to drive growth. He has worked for the Boston Consulting Group, as marketing and development director for Time magazine, director of business development for MTV and VH1, and vice president of marketing and business development for a national retailer’s online operation.

The free, public talk will be held in Koury Auditorium, and a book signing will follow. Free parking will be available in the business school deck. RSVP to cse@unc.edu.
